Review: Darken the Stars

Darken the Stars Darken the Stars by Amy A. Bartol
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Unmaking Song

This series must be read in order. The first book is Under Different Stars. The second book is Sea Of Stars. This is the third and (unfortunately) final book in this series. I am sad to see it end!

Kricket has given up her happiness and love with Trey and allowed herself to be exchanged for her sister Astrid. She is Kyon's property ... His priestess. She must use her gifts to find a way out of this forced arranged marriage or find some other way to thwart the Prophecy. How could her father abandon her to fend for herself at such a young age? Did she never mean anything at all to him? How did she forget her beloved younger sister? Will she ever find a way to live her own life or is she doomed to be a game piece and or property for the rest of her unnaturally long life? Will she die trying to attain freedom?

Too many forces conspire to mold the future. Not everyone can win. Who will die and who will rise to power? Will the world be remade into something positive or will it be ruled by a mad scientist worse than Hitler even dreamed of? Will Kricket unmake the world or make it whole? Will she survive the endeavor? Read the epic conclusion of this series to find out!

***This series is suitable for adult readers who enjoy a fair bit of horror in their alien dystopian sci-fi action adventure romance fantasy filled with intrigue and heartbreak :)
