Review: Ever Shade

Ever Shade Ever Shade by Alexia Purdy
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Unwitting Faerie Princess

This series must be read in order. The first book is The Withering Palace. The second book is Evangeline (A Dark Faerie Tale #0.5). This is the third book.

Shade knows she is different but she had no clue why. She lives with her brothers and her sister and her mom and they all seem incredibly normal. Even her dad who died a few years ago was normal... But not Shade... She hears voices that force her to do their bidding... And they always want odd things. But life is okay. She has her family and Brisa. Everything is just fine until one day the voices force her into an abandoned building and she meets Evangeline and Jack... Who and what exactly are they? What are the voices that control her life? Will she ever be able to fit in anywhere and feel normal?

This is an awesome coming of age modern fairytale with dark edges and plenty of twists! It is mysterious and suspenseful along with being highly addictive. There is a lot of humor too interspersed with all the action and adventure. I think any fairytale lover would enjoy is as well as paranormal enthusiasts and fantasy buffs. I can't wait to see what is next for Shade and the gang in Ever Fire (A Dark Faerie Tale #2) as it is sure to be both mystifying and amusing!

***This series is suitable for adult readers who enjoy dark fantasy with a few dashes of horror and forbidden romance :)
